Randy Vazquez earned a Doctorate in Nutritional Sciences from The University of Arizona. Dr. Vazquez is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and also has a Certified Wellness Coach (CWC) certification from the Spencer Institute. Randy has been a trainer since 2008. It was as a teaching associate for the University of Arizona’s “Nutrition, Food and You” course that Dr. Vazquez discovered his intense passion for teaching. Dr. Vazquez is also familiar with scientific research and was awarded an American Heart Association Postdoctoral Fellowship to conduct research on cardiovascular disease and diet induced inflammation. This research background has enabled Dr. Vazquez with the knowledge to critically assess current fitness and nutrition trends.
Randy is extremely passionate about physical activity, nutrition and wellness. He enjoys helping others find their path towards achieving a healthy lifestyle. He himself has overcome his own personal struggles with eating right, getting fit and finding a life balance. His approach is to help his clients make behavior changes that lead them to fulfill their goals. As a result his clients are able to self-motivate and be self-sufficient. Dr. Vazquez has experience working with a wide range of clients, from teenagers to older adults, with different physical abilities, limitations and health conditions.
Besides working out Randy loves to dance salsa and go hiking. Randy is happily married to his wife Karina Vazquez-Valenzuela. He grew up in Brooklyn East NY with strong Puerto Rican roots and is fully bilingual in English and Spanish. Dr. Vazquez is also a Cardiovascular Perfusionist at the Southern Arizona VA Hospital
